What's good, family? 

We started Five Wards Media to amplify the voices and stories of our community. After launching our project, the Newark News & Story Collaborative, at the height of the pandemic, it became clear Newark residents needed a space that honors our culture, community, and lived experiences.

Today is Giving Tuesday. We ask for your support to keep bringing you stories that reflect the city's people. We do this work because we are committed to the possibility of what our community would be like if folks were informed, engaged, and celebrated.

A comrade of mine said, "where food deserts are, news deserts are." Your support will allow us to bring more stories like Sam's story, train more Newark residents in media making and content creation, and develop innovative ways to fill information gaps here in our city.
