Yendor Theatre Company hosted the play "In The Middle of the Mess" across all Newark's five wards. The play was directed by Newark’s own Alicia Whavers.

The play tells the story of Joey, a young Black man, who is desperate to find joy in the midst of a global pandemic. In his search he recalls childhood memories with his best friend, faces his fears about grief and finds comfort in family.

The production's cast and crew consisted of both youth and Newark residents. A LEAD charter student created the play flyer above for the production. We salute and congratulate Yendor for bringing the arts to the people all across the city! Support the continued work of Yendor and the legacy of Rodney Gilbert.
